On Ram Navami 2025, BJP leaders Suvendu Adhikari, Dilip Ghosh, and Arjun Singh took part in celebrations across Bengal and criticised the TMC government. Suvendu laid the foundation stone for a Ram Mandir in Nandigram and said “original Hindus of Bengal don’t vote for Mamata,” accusing TMC of religious appeasement. Dilip Ghosh, in Kharagpur, defended weapons in processions, saying, “What’s wrong if someone carries a weapon?” and cited vandalised temples. He also questioned opposition to “Jai Shri Ram” slogans at Jadavpur University. Armed rallies were reported in Malda and Sankrail without police permission, with legal action expected. TMC MP Dola Sen objected to weapons in processions. TMC leaders including Firhad Hakim and Kalyan Banerjee joined Ram Navami events. CM Mamata Banerjee urged peaceful celebration in her message.
